Key Responsibilities:

-Minimum 7-8 years of core Unix (Sun, Linux) administration experience, which includes Administration of servers, user accounts, performance tuning, Optimizing to business needs/requests and patching.
-Good problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to perform root cause analysis and suggest technical support that can deliver the expected and/or exceed the expectation.
-Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to confidently exchange ideas within and outside the team globally. Should be a team player and contributor.
-Ability to work according to defined processes and procedures
-Ability to prioritize workload, and work independently without close supervision
-Willingness to work in a highly dynamic environment which requires flexibility, weekend on call rotation, timely response and deliver deliverables as per the SLA.
-Be willing to take challenges and motivated to learn products

Skills Requirements:

-Experience of system administration on Solaris, Linux
-Experienced in shell, korn shell scripts to automate the administrative tasks.
-In depth knowledge in installation and configuration of Solaris, Linux Operating Systems.
-Experience of OS hardening to minimize a computer's exposure to current and future threats by fully
-Well experienced in Monitoring, altering file system usage, and system process failures.
-Experienced in redefining volume groups, migrating and mirroring logical volume.
-Skilled in troubleshooting and administration of heterogeneous UNIX environment.
-Actively participated in Storage/Capacity planning and implementation.
-Should have a sound knowledge on HA environment (SUN/VERITAS Cluster)
-Good understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols
-Good Understanding of NIS/NFS/DNS
-Knowledge of VERITAS high availability suite for Unix and hands on experience of volume management tools is mandatory
-Hands on experience on Enterprise monitoring tools like Tivoli, HP SIM
-Experience supporting server backups, preferably Net Backup Application
