Our client is a total logistic company who operates sea, air and road networks connecting its consolidation hub in Singapore and major transit hubs in Indonesia.

Title: Sea Freight Operations Supervisor

Job Responsibilities:
- To plan, organize, staff, direct and control the activities of the Sea Freight 3rd Party Logistics Section so as to achieve defined KPIs expected by customers.
- To build and develop initiatives and opportunities to enhance business and vendors performance.
- To manage the effective distribution of 3rd Party shipment via sea in order to meet customer expectations.
- To explore/understand and improve on the present process flow of the Sea Freight Documentation section.
- To ensure a safe, efficient, motivated and productive working environment.
- To promote open communication, proactive approaches to problem solving, and best practice implementation in the distribution groups.
- To ensure all transportation transactions are cost effective through effective vendor performance measurement and management.
- To drive down operating unit cost including freight, through establishing strong relationship with vendors and work flow enhancement.
- To hire, train and coach front line staff to effectively perform the functions and activities of both operation and documentation for 3rd Party Logistics.
- To ensure the appropriate allocation of resources(both human and capital) are employed to perform operational activities to meet customer expectations.
- To negotiate trucking and sea freight transportation contracts with vendors and suppliers that provide the most appropriate service for rates that are consistent with profitability objectives.
- To ensure all SOPs for external customers are realistic, achievable and consistent with industry practices for comparable activities.
- To conduct performance reviews of front line staff as required by company policy.
- To be the lead champion for the sea freight distribution information system, full understanding all aspects of the system and being capable of training and coaching front liners in the use of the system.
- To produce the required daily and weekly performance reports in order to ensure all shipments are processed and accounted for daily.
- To ensure the proper space booking on sea and trucking service providers as required by the volume to be transported.
- To review weekly service performance and quality reports with front line staff, discuss and identify root causes of service failures, implement preventive action.
- To ensure all personnel are effectively trained to safely and legally utilize equipment required for operations activities and tasks.
- Perform other tasks as required by management.

Requirements:
- Minimum ?A? Level or Diploma in Logistics.
- At least five (5) years experience in distribution and logistics industry.
- At least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to provide effective leadership of culturally diverse workgroups consisting of multiple supervisors on day and night shifts.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work closely with internal and external customers, including different industries and disciplines, and communicate customer needs effectively and accurately to subordinates.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and be proactive in performing operational activities to meet customer expectations.
